It's the final home stretch! Our days were filled with wonderful experiences, from the distinctive architecture of Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart to the gorgeous setting of Höhenpark Killesberg and Freiburg's Wein Festival. We arrived to the Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart, a cutting-edge architectural wonder, on my visit to Europaviertel. As we looked around its distinctive rooms, the library's contemporary and clean design became apparent. From the abundance of natural light to the well-curated collections, it was a haven for book lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike. This fascinating building was a beautiful combination of art and functionality, making it a must-see location for anybody traveling through Stuttgart. I was captivated by the magnificent Killesberg Tower, another architectural wonder that seemed to spiral effortlessly towards the sky, as we strolled around Höhenpark Killesberg. With its own public petting zoo and landscapes that were a haven of beauty and calm, the park offered a pleasant escape from the bustle of the city. We arrived in the Palace Square, a bustling center of culture and history, as part of our walking tour of Stuttgart. The beautiful scenery, accompanied by a majestic castle, intricate sculptures, street art, and bustling street vendors, made for a truly enchanting experience. Immersing ourselves in the local culture and admiring the diverse artistry that covered the square deepened our appreciation for the rich heritage of Stuttgart. Our exploration of Germany wouldn't be complete without a visit to Esslingen's Burg Esslingen. Our stamina was put to the test as we ascended the seemingly endless staircase, but the view at the top was beautiful. From the top of the castle, we were treated to panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, providing us with a sense of accomplishment and appreciation for the beauty of the German countryside. Our hosts took us for a weekend in Freiburg, where we were welcomed by the lively atmosphere of the Freiburg Wein Festival. Surrounded by food and the aroma of wines, we tried a variety of flavors, including the amazing wine slushies that I loved. The festival's music, delicious food, and great vibes made for a memorable celebration of the region's cherished wine culture.
Afterwards, a perfect break from our busy itinerary, Strandbad Titisee offered us a day of relaxation and fun by the water. I laid in the grass, soaked up the warm sun, and paddle boarded in the lake while taking in the scenery. We took the time to relax and appreciate life's small pleasures. Exploring the hidden gems, unique architecture, and vibrant culture of Germany has been an adventure.
